It is explained in Spanish and with detailed graphics and schemes.
Wood is a natural material that grows and adapts depending on weather conditions. In spite of modern drying techniques, it is impossible to completely avoid a certain degree of deformation and formation of resin and cracks, especially on the outer surfaces. The varied formations of knots are also typical of the fir. These variations accentuate the beauty of wood.
Is your cabin alive?
It is technically impossible to produce absolutely stagnant material from the trees, even using the most sophisticated production methods, as the material literally grows from the earth. Due to the constant changes in temperatures and the variable level of humidity in the air during the course of the year, combined with rain, wind and sunlight, the wood always shrinks and swells alternately, as the pores absorb moisture and dry again. Wood may be deformed a little, but this does not affect the stability and functionality of the structure. The swelling and drying of the pores in the wood also leads to the settlement of the walls in the first few weeks. And this is why the doors and frames of the windows are not fixed to the boards of the walls, but are inserted without tightening on the walls. This is the best way to ensure that the natural movement of wood does not cause any damage and the settlement of the structure is correct.
Pressure of rapid aging.
The wood we use is a virgin, without any treatment, except the beams treated in autoclave on which the entire structure and soil is mounted. If wood is exposed to severe outdoor climates, it must be protected from the harmful effects of climate change, sunlight, humidity and biological infestation. It means, he'll become gray with the years. To ensure the longevity of your wooden cottage (which should be at least for life), we recommend treating it with two layers of special wood protector (preferably water-based lasures). It is not advisable to paint the wood before mounting the boards; this becomes better when the product is already built and the weather is good. However, if you want to paint parts like windows, doors or frames of the same in different colors, this should be done before installing these components in the final product. Adequate ventilation and preventing water penetration are the best ways to protect rotting wood.
